Prawn Biryani Recipe:

Prawns - 500 gms
Turmeric - ¼ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
Salt - To taste
Basmati rice - 400 gms
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Bay leaf - 1 no
Cloves - 3 nos
Cardamom - 2 nos
Onions - 2 nos
Tomatoes - 2 nos
Green chillies - 4 nos
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Mint - 1 cup
Coriander - 1 cup
Kashmiri Chilli powder - 3 tsp
Garam masala - 2 tsp
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Water - 3 cups
Ghee - 1 tbsp

Cooking Instructions:

1. Deshell, devein, clean the prawns and drain the water completely.

2. Wash and soak the rice for 30 mins.

3. Marinate the prawns using turmeric, chilli powder, salt, pepper powder and refrigerate it for 30 mins.

4. Heat a pan with oil add the marinated prawns, saute it for 2 mins and remove it in a bowl.

5. In the same pan add all the whole spices followed by the sliced onions saute it until dark golden brown.

6. Add sliced tomatoes, salt and whole green chillies to the pan cook it until oil separates.

7. Add in all the dry masalas continue to cook until the raw smell goes off.

8. Add 3/4th of mint and coriander, followed by coconut milk and washed rice.

9. Pour in the water and adjust the seasoning at this point close the lid and let it cook for 15 mins.

10. Remove the lid add in the remaining mint and coriander and keep it for dum for 10 mins

11. Serve it hot with raita.
