Nissan X-Trail 2023: behind the wheel of the largest and most refined Qashqai

After a long wait, Nissan's most representative SUV arrives on the European market with a 5 or 7-seater format and a modern mechanical range that includes e-POWER technology.

It has been more than a year since we received the first images of the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail , first in the United States, and then in China from the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show, and now we are about to receive it in our market. Its presence in the Old Continent was confirmed from that second appearance and we can already see it with its definitive appearance , much more modern and technological with a wide matching interior available in 5 or 7 seats and also with a modernized mechanical range that includes a new version e-Power identical to its little brother, the Nissan Qashqai .

General characteristics of the Nissan X-Trail 2023
We all thought that the new generation of the SUV would grow in size, but in the end it has not been like that since it has even lost 10 millimeters along the way.

Gone are the days when the X-Trail was a compact and discreet all-rounder. Now well established as an SUV, it presents an image with sharp and robust shapes in order to distinguish itself from its European cousins, that is, the Renault Koleos and the Mitsubishi Outlander. The aesthetics of this SUV is inspired by the 2018 X-Motion concept .

On the front, which is not as angular as that of the concept, it has details such as the headlights split in two , the upper half extended towards the hood and the lower half towards the grille, in an important aesthetic display, while the grille presents some Outstanding dimensions and a V shape. At the rear , on the other hand, there are some pilots more similar to the current ones, with a fairly short rear window, a high and very marked waist and the wheel arches , very wide at the top. exactly the same as those of the aforementioned prototype. This design may be accompanied by 10 different body colors and up to 5 two-tone combinations.

Regarding the interior , we find a cabin finished in black leather with white seams, whose distribution of the different elements differs significantly from the current one. The steering wheel is still flattened at the bottom, but the instrument panel is now fully digital (up to 12.3 inches) and the center console is much more compact, with a touch screen at the top (9") and the climate control. Below this, the central tunnel is more voluminous and incorporates a small gear selector , as well as a rotary control for driving modes.
