SIGHT & SOUND Episode 2 - Interview with Pedal Steel Guitarist, Marty Rifkin

Here is an interview with legendary pedal steel guitarist, Marty Rifkin, who has played with such incredible songwriting phenomenons as Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Jewel, Glen Campbell and countless others. When I first met Marty Rifkin after we talked on the phone about having him play pedal steel on my song, "Home," from 2012's MUSIC OF THE NEW DAY, I was immediately impressed with how well he learned my song, charted it all out and had parts/ideas for every twist and turn of the song. To be honest, he never played a wrong note and that stuck with me.

When I finished the album and sent him a copy, he listened to the entire album front to back and went out of his way to send me an email to compliment the album, production, arrangements, vocals, mix and songwriting on the album and it just completely warmed my heart to know he got all the time I put into creating the album. Marty is truly one of my favorite people on the planet and whether he is playing stadiums with Bruce Springsteen or recording with me in an empty studio, without a doubt, you are in the midst of greatness when you hear how he plays. He is a gift to music and I'm so honored to get the chance to collaborate with him. Getting to interview him and hear his perspective on music was an endless treasure and after you watch this, you will soon discover why.
