Anaheim Police Shop with a Cop 2014 - Target - Heroes & Helpers

On Monday, December 8, 2014, from 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM, Anaheim Police Department Cops 4 Kids held its second annual “Shop with a Cop” event.

Sixty (60) APD officers volunteered their time to shop with sixty (60) at-risk and/or low-income children from throughout the city. Each officer-child pair was given a $100.00 Target Gift Card to spend as they wished. The store, located at 101 S. Euclid Street, was closed to the general public for the event.

Target donated $1,500 to Anaheim Cops 4 Kids as part of the retailer’s Target & BLUE campaign, which pairs public safety officers with in-need youth for a day of holiday shopping. In addition to the grant from Target, several other generous organizations made donations to Cops 4 Kids to help make the event a reality,

Many APD officers went above and beyond to support their shoppers by donating their own money when a child’s purchase exceeded the $100 gift card. In total, APD officers donated $1358.89 to make sure Anaheim’s youth had a memorable holiday season.
