Leaving Cebu, Philippines - Pickpockets and Children Sleeping in the Streets

My time in Cebu has been eye-opening in ways I didn’t expect. In this vlog, I share raw moments—seeing children aggressively selling towels and witnessing the heartbreaking sight of naked kids sleeping on cardboard boxes. It’s a lot to process, and I question whether becoming “desensitized” is really the answer.

Despite the challenges, I explored Cebu’s IT Park, a hub of modern infrastructure, coffee shops, and co-working spaces. I met an HR professional and reflected on the potential of leveraging the Philippines’ skilled workforce for my web projects—finding local talent where I can meet face-to-face, not just virtually.

From crowded buses to a remote town called Oslob, my journey continues. I show you the ultra-budget hostel I stayed in—bamboo cots, one fan, and plenty of noise. It was far from comfortable, but it’s all part of the adventure.
