Dedicated softboot carving snowboards are not that easy to find. Here's a comparison of two that are actually quite different, the Jones Freecarver 9000 and the Stranda Cheater.

I got lucky and got to try a Jones Freecarver 9000, a board that has been receiving quite some hype since it hit the market this season ('23/'24).
I am very set on my Stranda boards, since they've opened my eyes to what really makes a good carving board for my level of riding and the way I want my boards to feel. Since I value Jeremy Jones and was curious to see what his idea of a great carver looks and feels like, this was pretty exciting.
Before I found Stranda I had been riding Jones boards pretty much exclusively for a solid ten years. I remember having an email exchange with Jeremy years ago where I asked him to make a more dedicated groomer carving board, something like the first generation Hovercraft but with a little less taper and obviously less nose. I guess here it is, and I was just a little too early, hahaha... ;-)
The OG Hovercraft was torsionally stiffer than the current boards, and I liked that a lot. I also liked the boards better before they introduced 'Spoon', which is a bit personal preference, I guess.
