Ruins of Rhyolite: Boom to Bust in Five Short Years!

Описание к видео Ruins of Rhyolite: Boom to Bust in Five Short Years!

Located just four miles from the town of Beatty Nevada is the historic ghost town of Rhyolite. This location has tons of mining, railroad and western history! Netty, Lily and I bring you along on our explorations of some of the old building ruins as well as a quick hike up the side of Ladd Mountain to check out an old mine shaft, we were also greeted by some amazing, panoramic views of the town, or what was left of it! We even got some great drone footage of where the old Montgomery-Shoshone mine was located. It's so easy to imagine the amazing history of this location when you venture out here. Thinking of how many people lived out here at the height of its prosperity, around 1907-1908, to becoming a ghost town just a few short years later made it all the more interesting for us. It's also easy to imagine how difficult the times must have been for miners and prospectors like Frank "shorty" Harris and Ernest "Ed" Cross, when you see how vast this desert area, just on the outskirts of Death Valley, is. We even check out an old jail called the Bullfrog Jail and stopped by the unique grave marker of Mona Bell. There's even a unique open air art installation called the Goldwell Open Air Museum right at the entrance. This is a great location for the whole family and is rich in history lessons! We would love for you to come along and enjoy the views right along with us!
