Acceptance of Prayers in Ramadan | Ahmadiyya | Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad Khalifatul Masih V (aba)

His Holiness(aba) then said that by the grace of Allah, we are once again blessed to be going through the month of Ramadan. It is not however to simply go through the month of Ramadan, nor does simply eating at the time of closing the fast and at the time of opening the fast fulfil the purpose of fasting. Rather, God Almighty has said that we must attain righteousness.

His Holiness(aba) said that in the verses which he recited, God has explained that fasting is an obligation. At the same time, God has stated that those who are ill or travelling are not required to fast but can complete them at a later time. And those who cannot fast should pay the fidyah. Even if one is able to complete the fasts at a later time, it is still a good practice to pay the fidyah.

His Holiness(aba) said that God also says that He hears the prayers of the supplicant. However, if one wishes for God to listen to them, then we too must listen to God and act upon His commandments.

His Holiness(aba) said that he would present some excerpts from the writings of the Promised Messiah(as) regarding the philosophy of the acceptance of prayers and the conditions associated with it. There are many of us who pray on the surface, and then think that God is bound to hear and fulfil our prayers, and then become sad when the prayers are not answered. What must be realised is that we must first strengthen our faith and relationship with God, and analyse ourselves to see whether or not we are acting upon His commandments. We must see whether we are steadfast, or do we falter at the slightest hardship and trial.

His Holiness(aba) presented a quote of the Promised Messiah(as) in which he stated that prayer is not the mere utterance of words, rather it is to fill the heart with the fear of God. It is when the soul of the supplicant flows like water to the threshold of the Divine and one seeks the strength to combat one’s weaknesses. It is to bring about a sort of death upon one’s self. It is then that the door of acceptance is opened upon the supplicant.

His Holiness(aba) said that many ask how can we know that we have been forgiven and God has accepted our prayers. Here, the Promised Messiah(as) has stated that when one supplicates in the true sense and has endeavoured to establish a lasting relationship with God, then one can be sure of this. His Holiness(aba) said that we should strive to achieve this especially during the month of Ramadan.

اللہ تعالیٰ کے فضل سے اس سال پھر ہمیں ماہ رمضان میں سے گزرنے کا موقع مل رہا ہے۔ ہمیں ہمیشہ یاد رکھنا چاہیے کہ صرف رمضان کے مہینے کو پانا اور اس میں سے گزرنا ہی کافی نہیں ہے یا صرف صبح سحری کھا کر روزہ رکھنا اور شام کو افطاری کر کے روزہ کھولنا ہی روزوں کے مقصد کو پورا نہیں کرتا بلکہ ان روزوں کے ساتھ اور ان روزوں کی وجہ سے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں اپنے اندر پاک تبدیلیاں پیدا کرنے کا حکم فرمایا ہے۔ روزوں کے حوالے سے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں بعض حکم دیے ہیں اور اس کے نتیجہ میں ان پر عمل کرنے کی وجہ سے ہمیں اپنا قرب عطا فرمانے اور قبولیت دعا کی نوید سنائی ہے۔ ان میں سے چند آیات میں نے تلاوت کی ہیں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں ان آیات میں جو میں نے تلاوت کی ہیں روزوں کی فرضیت کی طرف توجہ دلائی ہے۔ اسی طرح یہ بھی بتا دیا کہ اگر بیماری یا کوئی اور جائز وجہ ہے تو روزوں سے رخصتی کی صورت میں پھر ان کو بعد میں پورا کرنا چاہیے۔ یا پھر اس کا فدیہ ہے اگر کوئی بالکل پورا نہ کر سکے، کوئی لمبی بیماری ہے۔ لیکن یہ بھی یاد رہے کہ اگر بعد میں روزے رکھنے کی طاقت ہو جائے تو پھر بھی فدیہ دینا بہتر ہے اگر مالی لحاظ سے کسی کو اس کی طاقت ہے۔

پھر قرآن کریم کی اہمیت اور اس کے نزول کے بارے میں بھی بتا کر ہمیں یہ بتایا کہ اس کا پڑھنا اور اس پر عمل کرنا ہمارے لیے ہدایت اور ایمان میں مضبوطی کا ذریعہ ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ سے تعلق قائم کرنے اور اس کی بھیجی ہوئی تعلیم کو سمجھنے کا بھی ذریعہ ہے۔ اور پھر ہمیں یہ خوشخبری دی کہ میرے بندوں کو بتا دے کہ اے نبیؐ ! مَیں ان کے قریب ہوں۔ دعاؤں کو سنتا ہوں۔ قبول کرتا ہوں۔ اور رمضان کے مہینے میں تو آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نچلے آسمان پر آ جاتا ہےیعنی اپنے بندوں کی دعاؤں کو بہت زیادہ سنتا ہے لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ اگر تم چاہتے ہو کہ میں تمہاری دعائیں سنوں تو پھر تمہیں بھی میری باتوں کو ماننا ہو گا۔ مَیں نے جو احکامات دیے ہیں ان پر عمل کرنا ہو گا۔ صرف رمضان کے مہینے میں نہیں بلکہ ان نیکیوں کو مستقل زندگیوں کا حصہ بنانا ہو گا اور اپنے ایمانوں کو مضبوط کرنا ہوگا۔ پس قبولیت دعا کے لیے بھی بعض شرائط ہیں۔ پس ہم جب ان شرائط کے مطابق اپنی دعاؤں میں حسن پیدا کریں گے تو اللہ تعالیٰ کو بھی اپنے قریب اور دعاؤں کو سننے والا پائیں گے۔
