STORYLINE:
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was in New Delhi on Saturday for a two-day state visit.

She was the first head of a state to visit India since Narendra Modi was re-elected as Indian Prime Minister.

After her arrival, Hasina was given a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential palace in the capital.

She was joined by Modi at the ceremony.

Both leaders were expected to sign agreements during bilateral meetings.

Bangladesh and India have maintained a warm relationship over the years and their strategic partnership has been on the rise.
