A Mother’s Day Special with Carol Santos, Juday’s Mom

“All my kids are doing well, so it’s worth the sacrifice. Pero ’pag umuuwi ako, parang wala na kong rapport sa mga anak ko. Ito ba ang kapalit?”

This Mother’s Day weekend, Fr. Tito Caluag talks to Carol Santos, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo’s mom. She talks about the challenges of working overseas as a househelp for 14 years and how she shared the task of raising her kids with Nanay Binay. Carol shares that she owes a lot of her family’s success to Nanay Binay, who spent her life looking after the family. Nanay Binay passed on because of cancer in 2017.

Until the end, Carol and Binay were both mothers. They sacrificed a lot for Juday and her siblings—and it was all worth it.

“Dumating ’yung point na pakakainin muna namin ’yung mga bata, tapos kung ano ’yung natira, ’yun lang ’yung samin ni Binay. With God’s grace, eventually, everything fell into place.”
