Doing these tests was pretty fun and while not very scientific…well, not scientific at all…it was neat to see if there was any difference in what the spark looks like from each coil. From what I saw it looked like the spark from the Mallory 29440 was the weakest and it was a purplish color whereas the others had a blueish/white spark and they seemed stronger.
One thing I didn’t show in this video is what the spark looks like with different spark plugs. I have some racing plugs without a resistor, and I have regular plugs with a resistor. For those of you who race, you might want to keep an eye out for one of my future videos on spark plugs.
