By March 2023, Canada will adopt one of the most liberal euthanasia laws in the world. It will allow people with severe mental illness the option of asking for medical assistance in dying. Although the procedure has been available to Canadians with incurable physical illnesses since 2016, the debate about the legislation is by no means over. We ask: has enough time been given to make sure that the legislation is as foolproof as possible?
