President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded the announcement transferring the land title from the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) to the Aeta communities residing in Barangays Planas and Kamias in Katutubo Village during his visit to Porac, Pampanga.

“Hindi po maliit na bagay ‘yung kaka-announce lang ni Congresswoman GMA na ‘yung titulo ng lupa ay mabibigay na para hindi na po kayo nag-aalala,” he said.

Speaking before the Pag-abot beneficiaries and recipients of farm inputs and carabaos, the President outlined the government’s efforts to strengthen agricultural livelihoods among Aeta communities and other indigenous groups, aligning with their basic needs.

“Alam ninyo po noong pinag-aaralan namin itong sitwasyon po ninyo ay talaga ang kailangan natin tulungan ang inyong hanapbuhay sa pagsasaka. At iyan ang nagbibigay buhay kasi dahil – napakahalaga nito dahil pagka kayo’y nagsasaka, hindi po kayo nagpapakain lamang ng sarili ninyo at saka ng pamilya ninyo. Iyong sinasaka ninyo, ‘yung tinatanim ninyo, ‘yung inaani ninyo ay kasama po ‘yan sa pagpakain ng lahat ng mga Pilipino,” he added.

He also announced that approximately 1,200 beneficiaries under the Ayuda sa Kapos Ang Kita Program (AKAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will receive PhP10,000 in cash assistance.

Beyond the immediate distribution, the Chief Executive reaffirmed that this initiative is part of a broader, ongoing effort to improve livelihoods and provide modest economic opportunities to rural communities. The Administration committed to ongoing support and responsiveness to changing needs.

“Patuloy po kung ano ‘yung pangangailangan po na makakapagpaganda, magdadala nang kaunting ginhawa sa buhay ninyo, magpapaganda sa buhay ninyo, at hindi niyo na inaalala kung paano ninyo pinapakain ang inyong pamilya, paano kayo maghahanapbuhay, paano kayo magkakaroon nang kaunting kita. Iyan po ang aming pangarap na maiabot ninyo ‘yung ganoong klaseng ginhawa sa inyong buhay. At nandito po ang pamahalaan,” he assured them.

“Huwag na kayong mag-thank you dahil trabaho talaga namin ito. Pera ninyo ito, kaya binabalik lang namin sa inyo ito,” President Marcos Jr. added, concluding his remarks.

Katutubo Village became the resettlement area for Aeta communities displaced by the 1992 Mt. Pinatubo eruption. It has since continued to serve as a home for indigenous families in the area. The village remains a central point for ongoing government programs focused on improving livelihood opportunities, access to services, and resilience among Aeta communities.
