Day in the life with my new half lease appendix horse | Working on the canter seat

What a joy it is to get to know a horse. Taser — my new 15 year old 16.2? 3? hh half lease appendix — and I are starting to settle in during our second week together. He is an incredibly patient and skilled teacher and I feel extraordinarily lucky to be able to spend time with him. Lord knows I need to learn all that I can.

We plan to ride 3-4 times per week: one private lesson, one group lesson, one hack day, and one arena day. The arena day is what you will see here! I'm working on the canter seat lessons I learned in my last training session and Taser is very generous showing me the way and tolerating my floppy fish moves. I have a longggg way to go toward my goal of jumping a small course, but if anyone will take me there it's my new trainer and this lovely, kind, talentaed horse.

Please bear with me while I figure out my new situation and how best to both respect the location and share my journey with you. This might mean some new video formats, but change for the better never hurt anyone.
