Learn to play fiddle - Beginners Lesson 1

This is the first of my Beginner Fiddle Lessons. I have tried to introduce the basics and get started playing as soon as possible in this video. Further videos will include topics such as tuning up, bow tension, basic violin mechanics like bridge position and angle etc.

However, I didn't want to bore the pants off the viewer discussing all of the technical stuff in this first video, but wanted to concentrate on involving the viewer in playing a simple melody before the end of the video.
Plenty of time for all that other stuff, as the series progresses.

I use the cheap £30 Glarry violin that I bought brand new off ebay in this series, trying to show that you don't need to spend a fortune to have a go at playing the fiddle. If you decide after a while that it's not for you, then you haven't lost a great deal of money, buying an expensive violin. However, if you decide it's great and you want to continue learning more, then you have found a hobby that will undoubtably maintain your interest for years to come.
