Learn to play fiddle - Beginners Lesson 2

In this second lesson I discuss how to rosin the bow and tune the violin. Also, I look at bow tension and include a number of different bowing exercises to work through. Including direction and playing more than one note per bow stroke.
Later on in the video we learn a simple tune in the Key of D that is then played in both the Key of A & G.
Finally, I finish with a brief chat about developing your fiddle playing style and 'playing by ear'.

I use the cheap £30 Glarry violin that I bought brand new off ebay in this series, trying to show that you don't need to spend a fortune to have a go at playing the fiddle. If you decide after a while that it's not for you, then you haven't lost a great deal of money, buying an expensive violin. However, if you decide it's great and you want to continue learning more, then you have found a hobby that will undoubtably maintain your interest for years to come.
