Meister Eckhart: Do we need faith?

Cioran and Schopenhauer said Eckhart didn't need faith or Christianity. Were they right? Dr. Johnson talks about Eckhart's notion of "rushing ahead" and answers Emil Cioran and Schopenhauer in a surprising way that is Eckhartian and retains both faith and Christianity, but not in the way that you might think! Along the way, Plato is discussed with the Sophistic paradox (Meno's Paradox), the Buddhist Parable of the Raft (and Eckhart's Parable of the Ship), Jean Buridan's Donkey and the closest thing we get to faith in Buddhism: sraddha (confidence).
