The Pressure of Reality: Eric Aho

Описание к видео The Pressure of Reality: Eric Aho

Borrowing on a key idea from a 1940 essay by Wallace Stevens, Eric Aho speaks about his recent departure from painting "observed" reality in pursuit of a new construction of "reality" that aligns more closely with his physical experience of the world. By contrasting new paintings with works from the past twenty years, Aho will draw particular attention to the ways in which paintings by Goya, Constable, deKooning and others have helped to open new paths for him as a painter.
