The Milky Way | City Cinematheque

The Milky Way mixes the screwball comedy of the 1930s with the physical comedy of Harold Lloyd from the slapstick era. When milquetoast milkman Burleigh Sullivan (Harold Lloyd) knocks out middleweight champion boxer Speed McFarland (William Gargan) by mistake, he attracts a tremendous amount of media attention. Always looking to exploit a new angle, seedy boxing promoter Gabby Sloan (Adolphe Menjou) convinces Sullivan to leave behind his comfortable career at Sunflower Dairy and become a professional boxer. Little does Sullivan know that Sloan is setting him up for a fall!
