32: Beautiful Cruising — Selby to Chesapeake City, Maryland

This was one of those cruises that started out rolly but then became calm and comfortable. An hour or two after we set sail we were wondering whether we should have waited for a calmer day. We've experienced much rougher seas, but it was a little uncomfortable for awhile. However, the seas calmed down as we got closer to our destination and it turned out to be another lovely day on the water.

We dropped our anchor at Chesapeake City, launched our dinghy, and had a wonderful time in that little town. A welcoming dinghy dock, nice shops — including the fun Chesapeake Candy Works, which was a favorite of our granddaughters — good restaurants, live music, historic homes and buildings, beautiful vistas, and an upbeat atmosphere that was enhanced by all the visitors, many of whom arrived via their motorcycles or vintage automobiles.

Chesapeake City is one of those places we would be happy to visit again and we're happy to recommend it to you whether you go by land or sea.
