CORKY LEE'S GOLDEN SPIKE FLASH MOB

Описание к видео CORKY LEE'S GOLDEN SPIKE FLASH MOB

Corky Lee describes the 1869 photo he saw in his social studies text that celebrated the completion of the transcontinental railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah as the inspiration for his photography. The construction of the Transcontinental Railroad involved thousands of Chinese workers, however the famous iconic photo doesn't depict any Chinese laborers. So in 2014, Corky started staging his "Golden Spike Flash Mob" to right the injustice of being erased from History.

In 2019, more than 20,000 people convened at Promontory Point to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad.

Thank you to Corky Lee and the Corky Lee Estate for permission to use the photos.
