The annual July 4 Independence Day Fireworks Celebration happened this past Thursday (7/4/24) along the waterfront near the Municipal Pier and Pier 39, with a fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. and last approximately 20 minutes. Because of that, Muni operated on a Saturday schedule with extra Muni service to get people to and from the Fireworks area between Aquatic Park and Fisherman’s Wharf. Many routes are motorized by buses, such as PM/PH and California cable car lines, and the F Market, along with many buses being reroute, which includes the 30 Stockton.

The MUNI XT60 fleet does not do well with super steep hills, which includes Union Street. As a result of the 30 being rerouted onto Union (or may possibly be going on battery mode), Potrero division had to send out 40-foot buses instead of 60-foot, as they function well on the 45 along that segment everyday. The 30 Stockton Short had its terminal remaining at North Point and Van Ness, but without utilizing the U-Turn near the municipal pier.
