Salon Day for the Doggies

Описание к видео Salon Day for the Doggies

Today was our first groom or salon day so to speak with our new friend Maxine at Grubby Paws Dog Grooming. Maxine is helping us out once a week by giving the pack a wash and blow dry, ear clean and nail trim. Today was Chance, Lily, Shadow, Barney and Rover’s turn.

The plan is that when all the doggies are familiar with Maxine and the bath day, we and the pack can continue our day whilst one at a time a half a dozen or so dog get their salon time to keep their hair and skin healthy.

Maxine is a lovely person, with several adopted dogs herself. Once a vet nurse, also worked with horses, she now pampers pooches. We were lucky to get a spot each week, groomers like many locations are booked out for months. Maxine has just made the sea change from Sydney to the Coast. All the doggies really loved Maxine, they were on their best behaviour.

Chance loved his pamper session and was particularly adorable sporting the happy hoodie at blow dry time. Lily who is Luke’s shadow just didn’t want him out of her sight. Shadow was the goodest girl as expected. Barney boy was so relaxed he let one rip. Definitely feel that’s a high compliment to Maxine’s work. And dear Rover who patiently or perhaps impatiently wanted a go himself the whole time. He got the extra peppermint cologne at the end. He can smell a little wee like with his incontinence, thanks Maxine.

The dogs felt great, they looked amazing.

After our pamper morning, we headed off on a bush walk, picnic lunch and then a swim in the pool.

Diesel is doing well. He still has some moments. You can see he has a go at Shadow at the picnic. No contact, nothing major. He just needs to decompress, training and some time to socialise. His interactions are limited at this time because he is preferring to run off after the birds. Not sure if anyone remembers from the shelter video of him acting strangely at the wall. Thought was it might have been the puppies on the other side. Luke was a little worried it was something else. There does seem to be something else going on as he is doing it here at the farm at any wall. Luke talks about some other observations about his unique behaviour.

We answer some questions from one of our followers about Barney and Rover’s incontinence.

It’s been quite hot here, the water truck makes a few deliveries today to fill up the tank and the pools.

We’ve received a few messages asking about some YouTube channels like “Barney, Maggie and Hope the Boxers” and “Cutie Pie the Pug” … I just wanted to let everyone know it is us, but we just haven’t officially launched them yet, Ben is putting them together for us behind the scenes. There’s one for each of the farm pack members. Ben is loading all their stories so far, then we will start posting new content. They’re just not ready yet, but some people have been worried they’re not us. So thank you to those who have contacted us in concern.

This is an extra extra long video. We understand it’s not something everyone can watch all the way through. It was a big day. But for those that do watch a little or a lot, we appreciate whatever you can manage. Thank you.
