Major Risks of Old Houses in Rural Japan during Earthquake and other Natural Disasters

As someone who wants to preserve all the old traditional Japanese houses in the countryside, I think the Noto earthquake on Jan 1st, 2024 is a good reminder of all the risks and dangers one should be aware of, especially if you are someone who wants to buy and live in an old house in rural Japan. Again, there is no way to completely avoid earthquakes and other natural disasters in Japan, so the best thing we can do is try to be as prepared as possible before the next big earthquake hits.
