TMK customer testimonial - Thorburn Contracting LTD 🇳🇿🥝

Here's a very interesting testimonial from our customer in New Zealand, Thorburn Contracting LTD. They have been using TMK from 2018 and along with their Kobelco Kobelco SK 140 SRL it has helped them create totally new market in the mechanized thinning to waste. They currently have five different shears (1x TMK 300 & 4x TMK 400) from TMK and one more arriving for them soon. All of the modifications on the Kobelcos as well as some on the shears are designed, made and assembled by Daniel himself. It was very intriguing to get a change to pick his brain about all this. 🧐🤝

The thinning to waste process is very different to the thinnings we do here in Finland and parts of Europe. They only pick the nicest trees which are pruned and all the other trees are felled and left on site. And whats even more mind blowing is that the trees on this forest were only around 10 years old. The year rings are more than 10 times bigger than in Finland for example, so the trees grow at astonishing rates in New Zealand and because of this they get huge in terms of diameter. 🌲🤯

It was great to be able to visit New Zealand and see their ways of working. We want to thank Thorburn Contracting for showing us their work and machinery! 💎👌

Todella mielenkiintoinen asiakassuosittelu asiakkaaltamme Thorburn Contracting LTD:ltä Uudesta-Seelannista. He ovat käyttäneet TMK Energiakouria 2018 lähtien ja yhdessä Kobelco SK 140 SRL kaivurien kanssa se on auttanut heitä luomaan täysin uuden markkinan mekaaniselle harvennusprosessille. Heillä on tällä hetkellä viisi erilaista kouraa (1x TMK 300 & 4x TMK 400) TMK:lta, ja vielä yksi uusi tulossa heille pian. Kaikki modifikaatiot Kobelcoissa ja kourissa on Danielin käsialaa suunnittelusta asennukseen. Oli erittäin mielenkiintoista päästä keskustelemaan Danielin kanssa tästä kaikesta. 🧐🤝

Uuden Seelannin harvennusprosessi on hyvin erilaista kuin Suomessa ja Euroopassa. Ainoastaan parhaat puut jätetään pystyyn, loput kaadetaan ja jätetään vain metsään lahoamaan. Ja mikä on vielä hurjempaa on se, että tämän metsän puut oli vain n. 10 vuotta vanhoja. Puiden vuosirenkaat on yli 10 kertaa isompia kuin esim. täällä Suomessa. Puut kasvavat siis järkyttävää vauhtia Uudessa-Seelannissa ja tästä johtuen puut ovat myös massiivisia halkaisijaltaan. 🌲🤯
