Sarah Mack inspired Galaxy Pour on a 30x40 gallery wrapped canvas, gorgeous lines and deep bold colors!

Hello Friends!

I've been watching my good friend Sarah Mack pour her Galaxy Series and it's been so much fun to watch! She's definitely got the magic touch creating these absolutely beautiful Galaxy pours, and I am so blessed that she poured one just for me! I'm so excited, I can't wait! It will hang in a place of honor in my home..

Of course, watching her pour gets me itching to pour 😂 I have done straight pours since I started pouring, and have really enjoyed trying to recreate her technique. I was using 20x20 canvases like she was, but I kept ending up tilting a lot of paint off and keeping the center. I decided to try a bigger canvas, in the hope that I wouldn't tilt as much of the design off. That's what this video is about today.

My colors are:
Golden's
- Prussian Blue
- Cobalt Violet
- Permanent Deep Violet

- Mysterious
- Persian Blue
(plus some Paynes Gray)
DecoArt Americana
Decor Metallics
- 24K Gold
Artist's Loft
- Titanium White
(plus some DecoArt
Satin Enamels Pure White)

My pouring medium is:
Liquitex Gloss
Medium & Varnish
A bit of Water
Floetrol

Sarah uses straight Floetrol to mix her paint, but I still added some Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish. When I use only Floetrol, I get beautiful cells and shapes but they distort after some time and I don't like it as much, so I added my LGM&V as a binder to help hold the shape of my cells and design.

I poured one cup, and stretched it out and it created some of the most beautiful effects! I absolutely LOVE the white 'lightning' looking waves, but the edge with the Violet and Prussian Blue mixed with the gold is just amazing to me. I did pour another cup to get something of a galaxy in there, but it looks more like a wild ocean than Galaxy 🧜‍♀️🌊😂

This was such a fun pour, and the last few weeks were so exciting watching her videos and seeing them evolve, each one more beautiful than the next. I think it's so cool how one person can influence and inspire so many people across the world.. it's one of the best things about this art form. The pouring community is so friendly and caring, it's so cool that we all lift each other up and help and inspire each other. Kindness costs nothing, spread it all around ❤
