With brick and stonework repairs largely completed on Foundry Lock during October 2013, contractors " Land & Water" focus on extensive repairs to Dudbridge Lock (Dudbridge lower lock). With one of the stone quoins replaced with freshly cut stone, the reconstructed lower offside wing wall is backfilled with concrete.
Chris Spencer of "Land & Water" gives a brief tour of the stonework stored nearby and the skilled bricklaying team are hard at work rebuilding the wing walls at the head of the lock.
The use of local stone for the invert and in the forebay, is an interesting feature of this lock.
