“Beaten and bruised: My abusive childhood led me to Krishna”

PODCAST: Episode 128 – Sunday 16th June 2024🎙

We’re pleased to welcome Smita Krishna Prabhu as our guest on this week’s podcast.

Born and raised in Ghana, he shares his very personal and moving story about his abusive childhood… and how ultimately it would lead him to Krishna Consciousness!

Beaten by his father and having to mourn the loss of his mother aged just 12, Smita Krishna always felt neglected, unloved and not wanted.

After years of feeling lost, lonely and depressed it was a chance meeting with Hare Krishna devotees that would go on to save his life.

Now, all these years later, Smita Krishna Prabhu is one of Ghana’s ‘Sankirtan warriors’ – and is well known around the country for his love of harinam and dedication to distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books!

“You just have to forgive”, said Smita Krishna, “I’ve let go of my past and learnt to trust in the Lord.”

His story can be an inspiration to us all.
