Diagnose & replace Kitchenaid dishwasher touchpad. control touchpad not working, Whirlpool, Maytag

Sometimes the touchpad is stuck in lock and you can't get out it or wash your dishes. Sometimes some keys don't respond to inputs. The model of my dishwasher is kdte254ess1 but this procedure works for many models from Kitchenaid, Whirlpool and Maytag.
