SanDisk flash drives very ofter come in for data recovery after they have been physically damaged. Flash drives with metal connectors have damaged connector prongs, while flash drives with plastic connectors have fractured boards that have been extended into a connector. Regardless of the design, unless it is a monolithic one, recovery of data for SanDisk can be done fairly easily with proper tools. Microsoldering is hard only when you don't have precise tools that are essential for the job. I will be refreshing my tool list soon - so keep an eye out.

This poor flash drive could have been severely damaged by the previous failed data recovery attempt, but it got lucky :) it found its way here
