N&W 611 At the Throttle: Taking the "J" Out for A Spin!

For a few weekends in 2016, The North Carolina Transportation Museum offered an "At the Throttle" experience with the famous N&W J-Class 4-8-4 steam locomotive. With the fate of the NS Steam Program unknown, plus the lifelong desire to even be in the cab of this locomotive, let alone operate it, it was unanimously decided between me and a few friends that a trip to Spencer to run it was in order. In this video you'll see (in order of appearance) Nick N., Bob S., and myself all taking the J out for a little run around the museum grounds. This experience is well worth every penny, and it'll always be cool to tell people that I got to run the 611. Special thanks to the NCTM, VMT, and Nick and Bob for making this video possible!
