Taker hit Goldust with the Tombstone, when he opened the casket, Mankind appeared and caught him with the claw. Then Mankind put him inside the casket and Goldust retained the title. In February 1997, Taker faced Hunter Hearst Helmsley inside the Penn Station for the Intercontinental Title. Taker hit Hunter with the title, ending in a DQ. Then Taker hit him with a chokeslam and followed by the tombstone on the escalator. Then Hunter was just casually sitting going down. In December 1997, Taker faced Rocky for the Intercontinental Title. In case you’re wondering where the title is, Steve Austin threw it in the river a week before. Rocky threw Taker into the turnbuckle, Taker caught him with a leg drop and he kicked out. Taker dodged Rocky, caught him, hit him with a chokeslam and hit him with the tombstone. The lights went out, Kane appeared and took out Taker, ending in a no contest.
