When we have information to give a client, or have a concern to share, we use this little formula: Ask-Ask-Offer-Ask. Motivational Interviewing empowers clients and supports their autonomy and choice. With this little formula, we take a moment before giving information to see what they already know. Then, we ask permission to share. And after delivering the info, we want to check in with them and see what they make of what we shared. Such a quick and easy way to give info or share a concern while evoking and supporting our clients!
