A weekly thang!!! Every Saturday the working folk would hang out with the well-known drinkers behind Jesse's liquor store and have a blast! Here is some footage of just one of the many days we would congregate and get our drink on. Even the police didn't bother us because they knew we were all friends and were just out having a good-ole-time.

For years, Willie Joe Wells (Short guy in the black cap) was a daily fixture behind the liquor store located on the corner of Pannes and Alondra Blvd. in Compton, four blocks South of Kelly Park. So much so, that we jokingly said that we were going to petition the courts to classify him as a Historical Monument!
