Emergency Custody in North Carolina

Family Law Attorney Abigail Seymour explains 3 situations in which emergency custody is warranted. Emergency custody is a topic that often comes up with clients and is somewhat misunderstood. For example, you cannot file for emergency custody just because the other parent is withholding your child/ren from you. There are only 3 instances in which a judge will grant emergency custody and they are situations in which you can prove that the child is in imminent danger or the other parent is leaving the state in order to avoid the courts.
