CAMPING & BIRDING at WALKERVILLE | NEW SONY KIT

We took our new SONY camera kit (A6700 + 200-600) on a weekend camping trip to Walkerville to test it out. After only having it for one day & with no idea how to use it yet, we fumbled about at the campsite taking video & photos of very obliging birds.

Nimal was using his Olympus OM-DE-M1 iii + 100-400 as he normally does. It was fun to see how the new Sony kit compared to the Olympus. Nimal had also played with his video settings so his video was more subdued than his previous settings. This did slightly interfere with the results as we were used to seeing the Olympus video sometimes overly bright and overblown. The new settings he was using made his video less saturated which turned out to be better!

Anyway.... the Sony kit was loads of fun to use. If only we knew what all the buttons were BEFORE we started to use it! We had set the camera to "bird" but didn't know there was another button to activate the subject detect. We were wondering why the camera wasn't putting the little square around the bird's eyes or sticking to the subject. Now we know!!

So.... come along with us on our weekend camping & birding trip to Walkerville!! It was loads of fun & highly recommended as a peaceful place to camp if you like lots of birds visiting your campsite!! And who doesn't like that??!!! It was brilliant!!
