➡️ I was intrigued to explore some earlier material from KoRn because that clanky tone from Fieldy really grew on me after analyzing "Got The Life" months ago. I perused Reddit for the "Top KoRn Bass Lines" and after seeing "Swallow" frequently mentioned, I decided to go in blind and listen to it for the first time! Fieldy's clanky tone and slap bass technique can be polarizing, but I just love his role in their music the more I listen. In this video I discuss the song's use of tritones, chromaticism, unique drum/bass production, and the song's extremely-balanced dynamics which leave so much room for the bass to shine with a visceral presence.
