Jan Egeland on NATO

Описание к видео Jan Egeland on NATO

In this Conversation video, veteran Norwegian diplomat Jan Egeland talks to SIPRI’s Stephanie Blenckner about the implications of Sweden’s recent accession to NATO. Drawing on Norway’s experience, he discusses how Sweden can maintain its independent voice and principled stance on issues of human rights, disarmament and development cooperation. He also reflects on the underused potential of Nordic cooperation in the area of international peace and security.
Jan Egeland is the head of the Norwegian Refugee Council. He was formerly United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

This is one of two SIPRI Conversation videos released to mark the 75th anniversary of NATO’s foundation. You can watch an interview with former SIPRI Chair Jan Eliasson here:    • Jan Eliasson on NATO
