[1:24] Adding resists onto the yarn
[4:37] Presoaking the yarn
in plain tap water
[4:54] Why are my zip ties snapping?

Mixing by feel, but aiming for ~300 mL total
Dharma acid dyes
~50 mL True black, 150 mL frozen blue, ~100 mL pink orchid
[8:39] Dyeing the MC
Dilute the mixed dye, pour over the yarn to cover it.
Add half the dye in 8 cups of water with 1/2 Tbsp of vinegar
Add the rest of the dye to 4 cups of water + ~6 Tbsp white vinegar
Heat the yarn until the water runs clear (heating on the stove)

Heat for 20 minutes before checking back in
Turn off the heat and remove the yarn to cool a bit
[14:57] Removing the resist ties
[16:27] Mixing dyes
Some diluted Frozen & spearmint breeze. A 1% stock of some Pink Orchid.
[17:57] Handpainting the yarn
Add drops of the three colors onto the yarn.
[21:18] Heat setting the yarn
[22:37] Washing the yarn
[23:53] The finished dry yarn
