Welcome to my Back Porch! It’s a series of performance videos of songs I like to sing, mostly classics from the 1960s to 80s, and a few originals. I release one each Wednesday and Saturday.

Tom Petty had many loyal fans, and retained them well past his heyday in the late 70’s. Can’t call myself a huge fan of his songwriting, but his band was very fine, and he hit the spot for me sometimes. This song especially. It sounds like his best shot in the it’s-now-or-never-baby sub-genre sweepstakes – it sure beats a lot of the competition! “…but never as good as I feel right now…” oo-whee, powerful stuff!
