In a nutshell:

By exercising those muscles, you can ensure your eyes are strong and healthy. These are just 2 of the 10 eye exercises we have in this video, so make sure to watch until the end to learn how to naturally improve your eyesight. How eye exercises work Thankfully, you can strengthen your eye muscles to help prevent and improve poor vision. Here are 10 eye exercises to promote healthier eye muscles and reduce eye strain. 10 Eye Exercises For Better Eyesight Blinking helps the eyes stay moist and allows longer focus. A good way to do that is to close your eyes, pause for two seconds, then open them again. The Brock string eye exercise aims to improve your eye coordination. For this exercise, you will need a long string and a handful of colored beads. Hold steady and look straight at the bead with both eyes open.

You should see the bead and two strings forming an X-shape if your eyes are working properly. And if you see two beads and two strings, then your eyes are not converging at the bead. The Near and Far Focus aims to strengthen your eye muscles over time and improve your vision overall. By alternating between near and far focus, it trains your focusing system to engage and relax appropriately. To do it, begin by holding your thumb 10 inches from your face and keep your focus on it for 15 seconds. If not, you can hold a near object with a letter on it for better engagement of your focusing system. After 15 seconds, shift your focus to a target 20 feet away. Then, hold your focus to that new target for 15 seconds. The eyes normally work hard during the day and would need a break now and then. Your focusing system especially becomes fatigued when using the eyes for near work.

Digital eye strain is an issue for those who must focus on a computer screen all day while working. For every 20 minutes, you just need to look at a target 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Coming next is another eye exercise that works by placing your focus on something at a certain distance. This eye exercise helps boost the strength and flexibility of your eyes. It also helps ease digital eye strain. To perform the Figure Eight exercise, imagine a giant figure of eight at about 10 feet in front of your eyes. Then, trace the figure slowly with your eyes for at least 30 seconds to a few minutes. Next, look to the top left and hold for 3 seconds then look to the top right and hold for 3 seconds as well. Palming is a yogic eye exercise that involves relaxing the muscles around the eyes to effectively reduce eye fatigue and stress. It’s an eye condition where eyes have a hard time working together to focus on a near object. Look at the pencil, or better yet, focus on the tip of the eraser. Talking about convergence insufficiency, another good exercise for this is the Barrel Card, which we will cover next. The barrel card trains your eyes to turn in together or view a near object. Next, hold the card against your nose so that the largest barrel is farthest away.

Also, hold for 10 seconds on each of the 3 barrels. It also aids in strengthening your eye muscles. Keep doing this exercise for a few minutes at a time throughout the day. So, which of those eye exercises do you see yourself performing often in the future?
