Peak Java runtime performance depends on the HotSpot JIT compilers making the best optimisations of your program as it executes. In this talk I'll explain how the JVM decides what optimisations to make and how you can understand and visualise them in the free open-source tool JITWatch.

Speaker Bio

Chris Newland has been coding in Java for more than 20 years, most of it in the market data and financial services industry. He has written several articles on Java performance for Oracle Java Magazine and co-authored the book Optimizing Java with Ben Evans and Jim Gough.
