1998 RetroSkins Highlights: New York Giants vs Washington Redskins

Описание к видео 1998 RetroSkins Highlights: New York Giants vs Washington Redskins

Talk about terrible starts! The '98 Redskins were putrid during an 0-7 start in which that were utterly blown out 5 times (admittedly by good teams). The downward spiral began with the New York Giants on opening day, and so it was only fitting that Skins should find their footing at the expense of those same Giants two months later.

The Redskins weren't great in this, their first victory of the season, but compared to what came before, they looked like world-beaters. Meanwhile, the Giants looked like the 0-7 team, with a limp-noodle offense that (apart from one late 3rd quarter drive) did nothing.

Skip Hicks had a decent day, while Stephen Davis continued his emergence as the Redskins premiere running back. Trent Green, taking over for the sadly unraveled Gus Frerotte (we still love you, Gus) notched his first win as well.

This would be the start of a respectable 6-3 finish to the '98 season, winning that set the tone for the '99 division winning team. This would also be the first of four-straight wins over the Giants, part of a lovely 6-3-1 ten-game run against New York in the late 90's.

Live-wire Jerry Glanville, now partnered with Sam Rosen following the departure of Kevin Harlan to CBS, on the call from then-named (and sadly not so full) Jack Kent Cooke Stadium.
