Average professional moves 5-7 times in their career, you need to maximize it
Tip 1: Know their level of urgency – New role or replacement? How big is the team?
Tip 2: Quantify your impact! – demonstrate what you have done and the financial impact you have had!
Tip 3: Be informed! Check out www.salary.com and know what you should be making!
Tip 4: Whoever says the number first loses leverage.
Tip 5: Give a number, not a range – you will never get the top of your range!
Tip 6: Leverage vs timing. If you need a job you lose leverage
Tip 7: Make it clear you don’t need to leave. You have a job, you are happy.
