Sofia from the tram driver's view (part 3)

Описание к видео Sofia from the tram driver's view (part 3)

A trip around Sofia with old Bulgarian tram type T6M-400 "Sofia 100" #435. This tram has been used in the past only as a training tram and currently it's the only one left from this type. Hopefully, it will be completely renovated in the future and will be in operation as a museum tram.
T6M-400 trams also known as "Sofia 100" are made in the Sofia tram factory between 1979 and 1987. 69 units were assembled in total. Visually, the tram is looking pretty different from it precursor "Sofia 65", but from technical point of view they are almost the same - with two sections, three bogies and 50 kW electric motors, mounted on the first and the third bogie. Generally, those type of trams as you can see or rather listen in the video, are very noisy, which probably is the biggest disadvantage of the model. The advantages - they are extremely simple and reliable. They were in a regular use till 2014.
In the middle of January 2020, due to the 14th anniversary of the transport portal gtsofia.info, the tram was hired specially for the all fans of the public transport. We have made a big trip around Sofia. In this video you will see the third and last part of the trip, from Lyulin district towards the city center and after a quick detour to Orlandovtsi district, the way back to the depot of Banishora.
