How to make a Sloth Sock Plushie with Fuzzy Socks | Sugar Maple Crafts

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be making this sloth plush out of fuzzy socks. It's a great project to use up scraps, because you only need tiny amounts of white and dark blue sock fabric.

MATERIALS:
-One lighter colored fuzzy sock (I used light blue)
-A tiny scrap of a darker sock in the same color (I used a medium blue)
-A small piece of white fuzzy sock (tan can be used as well, or an extremely pastel shade of whatever color you're using)
-Something to mark the fabric with (I used a sharpie)
-Needle and thread
-Fabric shears or sharp scissors
-Toy stuffing
-Yarn/embroidery thread in the color of your choice for the mouth and nose
-Yarn needle
-Optional: Snaps, buttons, velcro, etc. if you want your sloth to be able to hang upside down
-Something for the eyes (beads, super glue and flat-backed eyes, embroidery thread, yarn, etc.)

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Instead of toy stuffing, you can use anything that's soft and fluffy. For example, fuzzy sock scraps or yarn scraps would work perfectly. You can also use needle felting wool, dryer lint, or cotton balls.

As stated above, you can glue on eyes like I did in the video, or you can also sew on beads or make french or colonial knots with embroidery thread.

If you find it too finicky to sew on such tiny pieces of sock fabric for the details on the face, you can also sew on pieces of felt or any other fabric. You can also needle felt flat sheets in the correct shapes and sew those on as well.

Like I said in the video, you can use buttons, velcro, snaps, or any other similar method if you want your sloth to be able to hang onto things.
