Earth in Focus 4 - ARK, Egwood

A group of nine young students took part in Somerset Film's 'Film in a Day' course that was hosted at ARK in Egwood. The students began the day at 10.00 with a blank flip-chart and six hours later they had all the component parts of a film safely in the can. They chose to focus their film on some of their key environmental concerns.

Each of them contributed to the script meeting and the development of the film's storyboard. They took turns in the multi-camera operation, filmed beautiful cutaway and establishing shots, recorded wild-track and assisted with the clapperboard / continuity duties. For many of them it was their first time speaking to camera and they all spoke with great sincerity.

The film tutors were Kevin Redpath from Somerset Film and Richard Tomlinson of Original Light Productions in Chard.
