আমরা দু-জনে ১ | শচীন দেব বর্মণ ও মীরা দেবী

'আমরা দু-জনে' হিসেবে আজ হাজির করছি শচীন দেব বর্মণ ও মীরা দেবীর যৌথ সৃষ্টির কথা।

এখনকার উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের একটি ছোট্ট পার্বত্য রাজ্য ত্রিপুরা। এখানেই রাজত্ব করতেন মাণিক্য রাজবংশ। এই উপমহাদেশর প্রখ্যাত সঙ্গীতকার ও কন্ঠ শিল্পী শচীন দেব বর্মণ আগরতলা-র এই রাজবংশেরই সিংহাসনবঞ্চিত শরিকপক্ষের সন্তান। ১০০ বছরেরও আগে ১৯০৬ সালের ১লা অক্টোবর ত্রিপুরার পার্শ্ববর্তী কুমিল্লা-য় তাঁর জন্ম। কুমিল্লা এখন বাংলাদেশে। বাংলা আধুনিক গানে লোকসংগীত ও ভারতীয় মার্গসংগীতের সংমিশ্রণে শচীনদেব প্রবর্তন করেন একটি নতুন ধারা। বিমোহিত হয় সঙ্গীত জগত। তাঁর প্রথম গ্রামোফোন রেকর্ড প্রকাশিত হয় হিন্দুস্থান মিউজিক্যাল প্রোডাক্টস থেকে। যে অনুনাসিক কন্ঠের জন্য শচীনকর্তাকে এইচএমভি এক সময় বাতিল করেছিল উত্তরকালে সেটাই হয়েছিল সমাদৃত। হয়ে ছিল এক্কেবারে নিজস্ব গায়কী-স্বাক্ষর। ১৯৪৬ এবং তার পরে এইচএমভি-ও সাদরে ডেকে শচীনকর্তার গানের রেকর্ড করেছিল। ঢাকা হাইকোর্টের চিফ জাস্টিস রায় বাহাদুর কমলনাথ দাশগুপ্তর নাতনি ছিলেন মীরা ধর। মামা বাড়ীর পদবী:দাশগুপ্ত। সংগীতগুণী এই মীরা দেবী ছিলেন শচীনকর্তার ঘরণী।

ভারি আশ্চর্যের কথা, যাঁর গান-এর কথায় শচীন দেব বর্মণ থেকে আজকের স্রোতারা সবাই হয় পুলকিত, যিনি পর্দার আড়ালে থেকে সারাটাজীবন স্বামী ও সন্তানের সুর সৃষ্টিতে অমূল্য অবদান রেখে গেলেন, তাঁকে তেমন কেউ যেন চিনলোই না! কিম্বদন্তীর আড়ালেই রয়েগেলেন আর এক কিম্বদন্তী। শচীন দেবের সঙ্গে সহকারী সংগীত পরিচালনার দায়িত্বও নিয়েছেন কখনও কখনও। বিয়ের আগে মীরা দেবী বেতারে গান করতেন, অংশ নিতেন সংগীত সম্মিলনে। নাচ শিখেছেন অমিতা সেনের কাছে। বেশ কিছু গানের কথা লিখে মীরা দেবী খুবই খ্যাতি লাভ করেছিলেন। তাতে সুরসংযোজন ক’রে গেয়েছিলেন শচীনকর্তা। খুবই জনপ্রিয় হয় সেসব গান। আজকের আমরা দু-জনেতে রইল সেই যুগলের সৃষ্টির করা কিছু অবিস্মরণীয় বাংলা গান।

এটি একটি বড় আশ্চর্যের বিষয় যে শচীন দেব বর্মণ থেকে শুরু করে আজকের শ্রোতারা তার সৃষ্টির প্রশংসা করেন, কিন্তু তার স্বামী এবং সন্তানদের জন্য সঙ্গীত তৈরি করার জন্য পর্দার আড়ালে রেখে গেছেন, তার সারাজীবনে একটি অমূল্য অবদান রেখে গেছেন, এমনকি খুব কমই তার নাম জানেন! এমন কিংবদন্তির আড়ালেই রয়ে গেল দুই কিংবদন্তি। কখনও কখনও তিনি শচীন দেবের সাথে সহকারী সঙ্গীত পরিচালনার দায়িত্বও নিয়েছিলেন। বিয়ের আগে মীরা দেবী রেডিওতে গান গাইতেন, মিউজিক কনফারেন্সে অংশ নিতেন। অমিতা সেনের কাছ থেকে নাচ শিখেছেন। মীরা দেবী বেশ কিছু গানের কথা লিখে খুব বিখ্যাত হয়েছিলেন। সেগুলিকে সুর সংযোজন করে গেয়েছিলেন শচীন কর্তা। সেই গানগুলো এখনো অনেক জনপ্রিয়। আজ আমরা সেই জুটির তৈরি কিছু অবিস্মরণীয় বাংলা গান নিয়ে এসেছি।

Today we present about the joint music creation by S.D. Burman and Meera Devi 'The Duo: SD, Meera Devi'.

Once Manikya Dynasty ruled the Tripura state. SD the renowned musician and singer of this subcontinent, is the son of the dethroned partner of this dynasty of Agartala. SD introduced a new trend in modern Bengali music by combining folk music and Indian classical music. The music world is fascinated very soon. His first gramophone record was released by Hindustan Musical Products. SD was once rejected by HMV for his nasal voice which was later appreciated. This was recognised as his very own singing signature. From 1946 onwards, HMV also recorded Sachinkarta's songs by honour. Meera Dhar was the granddaughter of Dhaka High Court Chief Justice Kamalnath Dasgupta. Her maternal surname: Dasgupta. Meera Devi, a musical genius, was SD's housemate.

It's a big surprise that from SD to today's listeners appreciate her creation, but has left behind the scenes to create music for his husband and children, has left an invaluable contribution throughout her life, even very few know her name! Such a legend remained behind the two legends. Sometimes she also took the responsibility of assistant music direction with SD. Before marriage, Meera used to sing on the radio, participated in music conferences. Meera Devi became very famous by writing the lyrics of several songs. Those were composed and sung by SD. Those songs are still very popular. Today we have some unforgettable Bengali songs created by that duo.
