Amritsari Wadiyan Wale Chawal is a lesser known and forgotten recipe which is made in Punjabi homes. In fact, a secret recipe which is extremely delicious and nutritious.

The recipe of Amritsari Wadiyan Wale Chawal or Amritsari Wadi Pulao has been passed on to me by my mother-in-law and it is usually cooked on weekends for lunch. The wadiyas can be easily bought from your local kirana store. However, authentic Amritsari wadiyan are quite spicy and that's why red chilli powder is used in little quantity. It is also called wadiyan wale chawal or simply wadi chawal.
