Asperitas presoaked for a few hours in plain tap water
Vinegar presoak: 6 T white vinegar to 8 cups warm tap water
Soda Ash Presoak: 1.5 oz soda ash + 16 cups of warm tap water
Soak 2 skeins of yarn in each bin
Presoak for 20 min in these conditions
[5:10] The fiber reactive dye
Color 117 Grape from Dharma Trading Company
2 Tbsp Urea dissolved in 2 cups of hot tap water
Dharma recommends 2 tsp grape dye / 1 cup of water. So I measured out 4 tsp dye
[6:40] Dyeing the first layer
hand painting then steam setting
Apply the same amount of dye to each skein as mjuch as possible.
[12:01] Heat setting the yarn

16 cups of water + 15 mL of 1% stock of Carribean Blue in each pot
(A separte dyebath for each skein)
Add the yarn before adding acid
+ 8 T white vinegar. Stir the yarn and then start heating it up
Heat for 40 minutes
Add a lot more vinegar in each pot Heat and cool completely in the pots
[40:37] washing the yarn

[54:49] Neutralizing the first soda ash skein
